JOE GREENE, 74 YEARS OLD
Charles Edward Green is known in the American football world as Mean Joe Green. He played professionally for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1961 until 1981 as a defensive tackle. And for his prominent display of superior physicality and knowledge of the game in the field, he was given credit for being the NFL: Defensive Player of the Year twice. Moreover, he had ten Super Bowl appearances and was selected for the first-team All-Pro selection five times. He is well-respected in the world of American football for notable leadership qualities, intimidating aggressive playstyle, and for his sheer competitive nature. Joe was the centerpiece of the famous Steel Curtain defense of the Steelers, which was vital for their four Super Bowl Championship wins spanning six years.
After retiring as a professional player from the NFL, Joe spent a year as a sports analyst for the NFL on CBS. After his stint as a pundit, he became an assistant coach for various teams spanning over 16 years.
