DIAHANN CARROLL, 84 YEARS OLD

Before making her way into the entertainment industry, Diahann Carroll was already polishing and improving her talents by studying in Music and Art High School. In fact, the actress even shared classes with the now-famous Billy Dee Williams. Born Carol Diahann Johnson, Carroll began her career as a model when she was 15 years old. However, she also participated in a couple of TV contests along the way.

Her investments started paying off in spades when she was 18 years old, thanks to her participation in the TV talent show Chance of a Lifetime. Not long after, Carroll finally made her way into the acting business with her debut in 1954’s Carmen Jones. Since then, she has garnered widespread praise and recognition for her work on-screen and on-stage. A few of these notable titles include House of Flowers, Paris Blues, and the TV show Julia, with the latter even winning her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series.
