RINGO STARR, 80 YEARS OLD


Famous worldwide, Ringo Starr has never stopped being a musician, even at the age of 80. Long before his music career, Starr worked a variety of odd jobs during his childhood. Among the positions include a railway worker, a waiter, and a machinist. Later, he began his career in 1957 by joining the band Rory Storm. He became famous for being the drummer of the legendary band The Beatles, which he joined in 1962. During the band’s height, every Beatles member, including Starr, achieved worldwide fame. Among their most iconic songs include I Want to Hold Your Hand, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, and Here Comes the Sun, among others. After the band disbanded in 1970, Starr embarked on a solo career and became highly successful. Among his songs include You’re Sixteen, Photograph, and It Don’t Come Easy.

Outside of music, Starr also appeared in numerous TV shows, documentaries, and films. He is known for narrating the first two seasons of Thomas & Friends. Throughout his career, he was given credit through multiple accolades and hall of fame recognition. Many drummers were influenced by his distinct drumming style, which emphasized feel.
