Glynis Johns – 97 YEARS OLD
With her parents being talented figures under the spotlight, it comes as no surprise Glynis Johns eventually followed suit. In fact, it seems like she wasted no time stepping on the gas. Beginning her career as a ballerina during her early teens, Glynis’ eventually performed for productions such as The Children’s Hour, St Helena, and A Kiss for Cinderella. A few years after, Glynis added: “on-screen actress” to her resume.
Born October 5, 1923, Glynis’ made her screen debut with 1938’s South Riding. After this, she landed roles for titles such as Prison Without Bars, 49th Parallel, and Perfect Strangers, but her journey to stardom hasn’t reached its peak just yet. From 1948 onward, the actress had the chance to appear in more prominent projects such as Miranda, The Weak and the Wicked, Loser Takes All, and of course, Mary Poppins. After her last work on the 1999 film Superstar, Glynis has since lived a more low profile life away from the spotlight.
