ED ASNER, 91 YEARS OLD
Like many actors, Ed Asner began his career on the stage. During his time serving alongside the US Army Signal Corps, Ed appeared in more than a couple of plays throughout Europe. After ending his tenure, Ed continued his journey and worked on productions such as Threepenny Opera and Face of a Hero, to mention a few. Not long after, he found his way into more on-screen roles.
After his earlier stints on shows such as Mr. Novak, Mission: Impossible, and The Outer Limits, Ed garnered a skyrocketing degree of recognition for his role as Lou Grant in The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Since then, other projects he’s worked on include The Bronx Zoo, Thunder Alley, Hawaii Five-O, its 2012 remake, and Roots. Nowadays, though, perhaps it’s safe to assume that the younger audience will recognize the actor for his more recent endeavors. Among them would be his voice-acting gig as Carl Fredricksen in Disney’s modern classic, Up.
