ART GARFUNKEL, 79 YEARS OLD

As one of the worldwide musical sensation, Simon & Garfunkel, artist Art Garfunkel produced many enduring songs. In 1964, the team released their first album titled “Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M”. under Columbia Records. As with many new artists, their debut outing didn’t make much noise, which led to the duo parting ways. However, just a year after, their track, The Sound of Silence, was remixed by Tom Wilson, who added electric backing. With this fresh new take, it was re-released a single and quickly soared to the Billboard pop charts.

Aside from having a prolific music career, Garfunkel was also a renowned poet. He would often take long walks, writing poetry along the way. Did you know that back in the 80s, he managed to walk across Japan in a matter of weeks? That’s quite the investment, but it wouldn’t be his last time doing it either!
