ANGELA BASSETT – COURTNEY B. VANCE

It’s safe to say that most of us know Angela Bassett for her epic roles. After all, she surely did a tremendous job portraying Katherine Jackson, Tina Turner, and Betty Shabazz. Angela Bassett’s career has reached considerable heights since its start in the mid-’80s. She has since won countless accolades and upscaled her credit score in Hollywood. Besides acting, she is also a notable director, producer, and activist.

Bassett met her better half, Courtney B. Vance while studying at the Yale School of Drama. The two remained friends for a few years, but they leveled up their relationship after a decade. They had their first date in 1994, welcomed their twins in 2006 via surrogate, and exchanged their “I do’s” in 2007. Since then, the two have collaborated on quite a few projects, including writing a book. “He is a great support person. He makes me a better person,” Bassett proudly said of her husband.
