EVA MARIE SAINT, 97 YEARS OLD
For her start in acting, Eva Marie Saint studied at Bowling Green State University. During that period, she also had the chance to land an acting credit on the stage play titled Personal Appearance. Now, as a tribute, one of the university’s theaters has been named after her.
After finishing her studies, Eva’s first on-screen appearance was on the TV show Campus Hoopla, followed by a stint in Bonnie Maid’s Versatile Varieties. A few years later, the actress finally landed a spot in the movie scene, debuting with 1954’s On the Waterfront. Thanks to her prior experience in acting, her performance on the film earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Since then, Eva has had a successful career spanning more than seven decades at this point. Other projects she’s worked on along the way include People Like Us, A Hatful of Rain, Grand Prix, and more recently, 2014’s Winter’s Tale.
