MIKE LOVE, 80 YEARS OLD

A member of the original group of the Beach Boys, Mike Love, has been active in captivating millions. He began his career with the formation of the Beach Boys in 1961. The members were his cousins Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson and their close friend Al Jardine. Together, they created an unconventional style for their music. That style, along with their theme of surfing and the youth culture at the time, became emblematic of their songs and defined the so-called California Dream.

While many may not give credit to him, Love has played a significant role in many of the band’s songs over the years. This was thanks to a lawsuit that Love filed against Brian in 1994, which he won. This became a point of contention among Beach Boys fans and observers to this day.
Outside of music, Love has been quite the philanthropist. He has donated to various causes such as environmentalism, diabetes research, cleft lip advocacy, and educational support.
