PAUL SIMON, 80 YEARS OLD

Paul Simon is one of the greatest songwriters in pop music. At age 80, he still manages to create excellent compositions. Spanning a career over six decades, Simon is best known as one of the two members of Simon & Garfunkel. Their most well-known song is Bridge over Troubled Water, but their other songs, such as The Sound of Silence, Mrs. Robinson, and America, are also widely celebrated. The duo parted ways in 1970. Simon pursued a solo career, achieving massive success since. His most successful album was Graceland. While it garnered controversy at the time of its release in 1986, it quickly became influential and highly successful.

Simon’s long career and contributions to the art were given credit through countless accolades, including sixteen Grammys and a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was also inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Currently, Simon has focused his energy on more local concerts after his retirement from touring in 2018.
