BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – PATTI SCIALFA
Bruce and Patti are rock ‘n’ roll legends who have beaten the odds by having a three-decade marriage and career investments. It all began in a New Jersey beach town when Springsteen was on the rise as a fast-shredding guitarist and Scialfa attempted to break into the music industry as a singer. Bruce and Patti, both New Jersey natives, grew up in similar social circles as teenagers and young adults.
They initially met in 1980 at the Stone Pony, a famous New Jersey pub. Patti auditioned for a backup singer spot on Bruce’s Born in the U.S.A tour in 1984. Eventually, she became Bruce’s E Street Band’s only female member. The two often performed emotional duets during the Born in the U.S.A. tour and then again during the Tunnel of Love Express tour in 1988, demonstrating their chemistry to fans. The two got married after surviving a star-crossed relationship. The rock ‘n’ roll duo now resides on the New Jersey coast while composing music and performing together. While some married couples find it tough to work together, these two make it look simple.
