Since her split from ex-husband David Arquette, Courteney and Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny have been dating for a solid seven years. During that time, the pair have lived separately, secretly got engaged, and then joyfully un-engaged. They’re an excellent example of how relationships don’t have to follow a specific pattern.

Ed Sheeran, who has collaborated with McDaid on several popular songs, has introduced the couple. They appeared together in 2014, just a few months after their first date in 2013. Cox and McDaid got engaged but called it off just a year later. In 2016, the pair rekindled their romance and reconnected. They chose not to be married this time. Although they may never walk the aisle, the two show an extreme degree of happiness.
