JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME – GLADYS PORTUGUES

Jean-Claude Van Damme has had a very energetic personal life over the years and was seemingly unable to settle down. He is most associated with his long-time wife Gladys Portugues. While Van Damme is a martial artist and actor, Portugues is well-known as a professional bodybuilder. Given that their professions involved quite a lot of physical work, it was no surprise that they tied the knot back in 1987 and seemed to remain together for a very long time. However, five years into their relationship, both called it quits with the help of their lawyers. The reason was that Van Damme had an affair with actress Darcy LaPier in 1992.

While Van Damme tied the knot with LaPier in 1994, they also broke up in 1997. This opened an opportunity for Van Damme to reconcile with Portugues and they did. In 1999, they tied the knot for the second time and have remained married for more than twenty-five years now. Despite having ups and downs since, they remain happy with their two children, along with Van Damme’s son with LaPier.
