Joan Jett rocked the rock world to its heart as she and her 1970s band The Runaways took center stage before disbanding four years later. Her meteoric degree of fame and subsequent fallout hasn’t slowed her down. The Pennsylvania native went on to record with Paul Cook and Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. That venture saw the band reach number two on the US Billboard 200 with their most successful release to date: I Love Rock n Roll.

Her career spans more than four decades, but Jett is still single. She hasn’t tied the knot with anybody despite her relationships with famous performers. Her ferocity and defiance have been unwavering. Even offstage, she’s always dressed in black and leather, with expertly winged eyeliner. Her leather looks aren’t natural; she’s a long-time animal rights activist. However, the result is the same: robust, both metaphorically and literally.
