Lauryn Hill – 45, Singer/Rapper
One of the most influential rappers of all time, Lauryn Hill had a short yet impressive career during the 1990s. She started as a singer but delved into rap in 1991. Along with Wyclef Jean and Pras Michael, she started the hip hop group The Fugees in 1992. The group achieved considerable success from 1992 to 1996. The group disbanded a year later, and each member focused on their solo careers.
In 1998, Hill released her first solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The album became both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. It propelled Hill to stardom and was given credit for elevating hip hop and neo-soul to the mainstream. However, she abruptly moved out of the spotlight in 2000. Outside of her career, she became romantically involved with Rohan Marley, son of Bob Marley. Together, they have five children. However, they never got married. Hill sometimes called Marley her husband.
