He was known for joining Discovery Channel’s MythBusters as the third member, where he built and designed several robots. In 2016, the same year he announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Jennifer Newman, he starred in the Netflix series, White Rabbit Project, alongside his MythBusters co-stars Tory Belleci and Kari Byron.
Grant Masaharu Imahara was an American actor, roboticist, and television host who was born on October 23, 1970, in Los Angeles, California. He was of Japanese descent, which is evident in his surname and facial features. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Surprising fact: he was the official operator of the famous Star Wars robot R2-D2. He also lent his complex abilities in the set of box-office hit films The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. He passed away on July 13, 2020, at 49 years old.
