Danny Aiello
An Italian-born actor who rose to prominence in Hollywood— this is how we’d describe Danny Aiello. His range and degree of acting were indeed inimitable, which resulted in him landing numerous roles, including Once Upon A Time In America, Harlem Nights, and Jacob’s Ladder. By playing a pizza parlor owner named Salvatore “Sal” Frangione in the hit film Do the Right Thing, he was able to earn a nomination in the prestigious Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actor, while the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) and Boston Society of Film Critics (BSFC) hailed him as one. Aside from acting, he also proved that he had the vocal cords by releasing numerous albums such as I Just Wanted to Hear The Words and Live from Atlantic City.
He got married to Sandy Cohen in 1955 and had four children, including Danny Aiello III, who became a famous stuntman and actor who passed away in 2010. Danny kicked the bucket on December 12, 2019, at a hospital in New Jersey. He was 86.
