John Singleton

We all knew and loved John Singleton as the creator of the huge hit Boyz n the Hood. He was a beloved director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He had received many accolades, credits, and recognition during his time. He had given us some of the most breathtaking scenes in the film industry.

Singleton was the father of eight children, and he was a good one at that. He attended USC School of Cinematic Arts before he fully got involved with the entertainment business. His passion and love to join the film industry was growing nonstop. In 2003, Singleton received a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was one of the directors of a Tupac Shakur biography film, but he ended up not being a part of it all the way to the end due to some personal reasons. Singleton criticized some of Hollywood’s popular studios for discouraging African American directors to write, direct, or make black-themed films. He always had a voice for what he believed in and he was an inspiration to so many people.
