Silvio Horta


Silvio Horta was a screenwriter and television producer of many shows, but he was mostly famous for the ABC series Ugly Betty. The show was an adaptation of a Colombian soap opera of the same name. This iconic celebrity opened his own production company called the Silent H Productions, it symbolizes the silent H of his last name when being properly pronounced.

Horta was a first-generation Cuban American born and raised in Miami. He was a very popular playwright back in high school, and people pushed him to pursue his talent. He was also openly gay, coming out to his family at 19 years old. Horta gave credits to some of the people who never left his side, but he also revealed that when he became successful, people would come flocking, only to disappear when he was going through rough times. Horta grew lonely in the later years of his career.
