Ann Reinking
Ann Reinking was a celebrated dancer, choreographer, and actress. She started her career as a dancer when she joined the corps de ballet at the age of 18 and had her first Broadway performance at 19 in the musical Cabaret.
Reinking gained prominence through her role in Over Here! as Maggie, where she won Theatre World Award. By 1975, she was recognized in the Tony Award and Drama Desk through her performance as Joan of Arc in Goodtime Charley. Likewise, one of her notable works was when she took the part of Roxie Hart in Chicago in 1977 and reprising the role in 1996, where she won Best Choreography in Tony Awards. Reinking also had several films to her credit. Among are All That Jazz, the 1982 Annie, and Micki and Maude. On December 12, 2020, she passed away in her sleep at the age of 71 in a hotel room during a visit to her family in Seattle.
