Juice WRLD

The young rapper unexpectedly kicked the bucket in the said year. Jarad Anthony Higgins, his real name, was born on December 2, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois. With his older brother, they only grew up with their mother as his father split from her when Juice was just a baby. In his sophomore year, he wrote and released his song Forever on Soundcloud with his then-name JuicetheKidd. The name came from the late Tupac’s film, Juice. Soon enough, his extraordinary style gained attention in the hip-hop community, especially when he released his singles All Girls are the Same and Lucid Dreams of his EP 9,9,9,. The latter song peaked at number two on Billboard Hot 100.

Eventually, Grade A Productions of Lil Bibby and Interscope Records made an investment to sign him for $3 million. In 2019, he earned a Billboard Music Award for Top New Artist, while in 2020, after his passing, his posthumous album Legends Never Die was released and debuted atop the Billboard Top 200 chart.
